SOLUTIONS FOR EDUCATORS
Why We Provide Mindfulness Training to Educators
As a preeminent mindfulness organization, we’ve found that expanding our trainings to educators via online courses increases accessibility, expands our reach, and mobilizes leaders looking to create a greater impact in their classrooms, communities, and in the world.
Over the years, we’ve seen that when teachers learn and implement MBSEL practices for themselves and in their classrooms, the personal benefits they experience are profound. Reduced stress, fatigue, and greater job performance occurs when they have more emotionally supportive classroom environments.
By equipping educators with the tools they need to harness the positive effects of mindfulness in their classrooms, we’re helping them avoid teacher burnout and reach their students in connected and meaningful ways. By creating environments where students are allowed to recognize their own emotions, those emotions are less likely to negatively impact a group learning environment.

Mindfulness is a feasible and effective method for reducing stress and improving performance.
Our Courses for Educators
FOUNDATIONS FOR MINDFUL EDUCATORS (Available January 2019)
Foundations for Mindful Educators is a new innovative online Personal and Professional Development, PPD, course where cohorts of participants learn Mindfulness Based Social and Emotional Learning, MBSEL, for both themselves and their students. Our 16 week training program consists of the following:
Part 1: Personal Development - Mindfulness Lessons
Cohort members of our teacher training program receive 16 weekly online lessons, 20 minutes each. Lessons provide information and tools for educators to attain greater self-awareness and well-being through internal resources such as emotional resilience and mindfulness.
Part 2: Professional Development - Curriculum Training
In tandem with their personal development lessons, participants will also receive 16 weekly curriculum themes that mirror their Booster Lessons and create a foundational classroom curriculum. Participants will receive Mindfulness First’s proprietary curriculum, recorded example lessons and innumerable resources. Participants will work to nurture their own way of bringing MBSEL to students, whether it be their own style of teaching or specific to the population they work with.
