Teaching Mindfulness I, is the first half of our Teaching Mindfulness series. Whether you’re homeschooling your own children or an educator in a classroom setting, this innovative online experience is a positive investment for you and the children in your life. This also serves as a Personal and Professional Development (PPD) course for educators.

COURSE OPTIONS

As a fully online course, participants can create a schedule and time commitment that best suits their needs and choose from two different course options.

Option 1: Instructor Led Course

Participants will be guided by a Mindfulness First Instructor, as they learn trauma-informed Mindfulness Based Social and Emotional Learning (MBSEL) for both themselves and the children in their life. This 17-week instructor-led option includes 16 weeks, plus 1 introductory week.

Option 2: Self-Paced Course, Start Anytime

For participants who want to set their own schedule, and are comfortable working without a live instructor or cohort of peers, then our self-paced course is a perfect match. This option is less expensive than our regular, instructor-led course.

Here’s What Our Past Students Have To Say

“I am so grateful I got to participate in the Foundations Training for Mindful Educators. I was able to use the tools and curriculum immediately in the yoga/mindful classes I teach at Montessori Schools in the East Valley. The format of the program was incredibly accessible. It gave a curriculum to use in a classroom, journal pages, activities, ideas, inspiration, and book recommendations. I found the live videos of teachers demonstrating how to teach the lesson to a classroom  very beneficial. I am looking forward to the Advance Training for Mindful Educators.”

-KIT W., PARENT & YOGA INSTRUCTOR @ ROOTED COMMUNITY YOGA PROJECT

“This course will enrich your teaching with new learning and participatory experiences for your students. In the 16 weeks, you are guided in specific areas of mindfulness that directly compliment and support SEL standards. You will have many video conference opportunities to provide and receive feedback! This course is also extremely valuable for health and wellness educators, and should be included as a requirement for all educators. I have reviewed many online mindfulness programs and highly recommend this course for all educators at any level."

-ROXANN R., TEACHER

“Thank you so much for this class. I have learned so much and have enjoyed all the practices and time with my kids teaching them and watching them grow. I can't wait to start mindfulness earlier in the school year and see it unfold to it's full potential. Teaching in a multi-age classroom, I'm excited to see how my soon to be 2nd graders will respond and continue to carry on being mindful (same goes to my new first graders as well).”

-COURTNEY S., SECOND & FIRST GRADE TEACHER @ FOOTHILLS ELEMENTARY

“Thank you for this program. I've been wanting to take this class for awhile now and I'm so glad I had this opportunity! I find that the lessons are very appropriate and user friendly for my young students. I look forward to starting the school year with the program this next fall. There are so many great resources that I'm excited to add to my program. Also, I appreciate the focus on us as professionals to create and practice our own mindfulness practice first. Practice what we teach.”

- TIFFANY G., KINDERGARTEN TEACHER @ FOOTHILLS ELEMENTARY

“This was very necessary to give me information to sustain my soul and plant myself before reacting in front of students. This helped grow me as well as affected my surrounding environment.”

-TEMEKA G., ELEMENTARY TEACHER

“This course was amazing.  I entered the course feeling like I already had a basic understanding of mindfulness.  I am now leaving the course with so much more. I feel I have tools and strategies to help me be successful in implementing mindfulness into my classroom no matter what age I may teach.”

-LONI S., TEACHER

“Thank you so much for the lessons and the practice. I feel like I have really evolved as an educator this year. I am grateful for the new ideas to better help my students grow to their fullest potential. Please keep me in mind for the Advanced Mentorship Training starting in August, I am very interested.”

- MAUREEN L., PREKINDERGARTEN TEACHER @ DESERT SUN ELEMENTARY

“I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Mindfulness First.  I felt the kindness and genuine nature of the instructors and classmates fully.  The class builds mindfulness from within, while giving you the tools to share mindfulness with others. I am so energized to continue my journey with mindfulness. I want to read more, teach more, and learn more.”
