The Agents of Change Spotlight: Timothy Warnock

We are so excited to announce that our August Agent of Change Spotlight is on Timothy Warnock who is an Arizona P.E. teacher, outdoors enthusiast and suicide awareness advocate.

Tim has a Bachelors in Physical Education and Health, and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from NAU. He is a certified endurance sports trainer, Wilderness First Aid through National Outdoor Leadership School and an Archery instructor through Arizona Game and Fish. This is Tim’s 15th year in the Queen Creek district, and his 28th year teaching Physical Education. His goal is to foster the joy of play in all kids with an end goal of seeing them live healthy active lives.

In 2016, Tim lost his beloved teenage son Mitch to suicide. In his grief, Tim partnered with State Senator Sean Bowie and various grassroots organizations to pass legislation mandating training for all 6-12 grade staff. This May, Governor Ducey signed that bill now known as the “Mitch Warnock Act,” to help educators in recognizing the warning signs for suicide and help prevent future tragedies. Tim is a strong proponent of mindfulness, Social Emotional Learning, and putting mental health first within our education system.

We are so excited to announce that Tim will be chatting with us at our August Community Circle virtual event, August 15th at 6:00pm Arizona Time. RSVP now to listen in and join the conversation.
