With a passion for mental health and wellbeing, Nicola Harvey is trained to teach and deliver academic learning programs, mindfulness workshops and wellbeing programs. She works in schools and communities to support the emotional wellbeing of vulnerable children. Nicola delivers inclusive sessions with compassion, empathy and integrity. She holds numerous academic, specialist, yoga and mindfulness certifications and diplomas (visit her website for more info!).

Nicola’s organization, Mindful Nicstars, was created while Nicola worked as a school teacher alongside therapists, education psychologists and other specialists within classroom settings for almost 10 years. She was surprised at the social pressures and academic demands placed on children from as young as 4 years old to conform. Nicola saw firsthand how this triggered anxieties and other mental states in children. With less public funding in place, many children have reduced access to the much needed support they need in schools. Under the guidance of therapists, Nicola began to integrate mindfulness, wellbeing and therapy tools within her classroom to help kids access the curriculum, learn to communicate their feelings and achieve mental clarity.

Today, Nicola uses her passion, drive, experience and training to build children's emotional resilience and support their mental health and wellbeing. She has created her book “Mindful Little Yogis” to help provide resources for children with special needs. You can learn more about her book in this short video (click here) and you can purchase the book at Amazon.com! Click here to go directly to Amazon.

We can’t wait to chat with Nicola on Thursday May 9th at 12 noon (Arizona time).
